Media Readiness Audit — Leeron Hoory

Am I
media ready?

If you've tried to get media coverage and heard nothing back — it's rarely bad luck. There's usually a specific gap in your positioning, your strategy, your angle, or your bio that's easy to miss and easy to fix once you know what it is. The Media Readiness Audit uncovers the gaps that are standing between you and press.

You have a story worth telling.
Here's how to get it covered.

This audit is for you if any of these sound familiar:

You've been thinking about pitching media or podcasts but keep putting it off because something doesn't feel ready

You have a story idea but aren't sure if the angle is strong enough — or if your bio actually supports it

You've sent pitches before and heard nothing back, and you're not sure what went wrong

You want a journalist's honest take on whether your positioning is clear and compelling

You just left a workshop or course excited to pitch — and want to make sure you've got the right foundation before you do

This is for you if...

You want your business covered in the media but aren't sure how to go about it — or if you're even ready

Your business has grown to the point where you want larger-scale coverage — but it hasn't happened yet and you don't know where to start

You see colleagues with media clips and are frustrated it hasn't happened for you yet

Here's how it works.

01

You fill out a short intake form

Tell me what you do, your story idea, who you want to pitch, and share your bio and website. Takes about 10 minutes. No pitch required — just show up as you are.

02

I review everything

I look at your bio, your website, your story angle, and your overall positioning through the lens of someone who spent 10 years on the receiving end of pitches.

03

You get a personal Loom video

I record a 10–15 minute walkthrough with my honest assessment: what's working, what's not, what to fix, and exactly what I'd do next if I were you. Delivered within 1 week.

04

You leave with a clear action list

Once I've reviewed all your materials, I'll leave you with a clear list of what to work on first — the lowest hanging fruit that will lead to the quickest gains.

A roadmap to getting
your business covered.

Bio assessment

Is your bio positioning you as a credible expert — the kind editors and podcast hosts want to feature? I'll tell you what's missing and what to change.

Angle feedback

Do you have a story idea that works for media, or are you leading with your business? I'll help you find the angle that actually gets coverage.

Positioning check

Is your positioning aligned with your media goals? If you want to be covered in a mainstream lifestyle publication, does your material actually resonate with that audience — or would you be better off targeting a different type of publication or media format entirely? I'll help you figure that out.

Outlet recommendations

Based on your story and positioning, where should you actually pitch? I'll give you 3–5 specific outlets or podcasts that are a natural fit.

A clear next step

Once I've reviewed all your materials, I'll leave you with a clear list of what to work on first — the lowest hanging fruit that will lead to the quickest gains.

Leeron Hoory

I spent a decade on the
other side of your pitch.

For 10 years I was a journalist quoting experts in the media — writing for Forbes, Business Insider, Salon, Quartz, Popular Science, and more. I was the person opening (and deleting) pitches every day.

When I started working with business owners on their media strategy, I noticed the same gaps kept coming up. A bio written for clients instead of editors. A story angle so broad it could fit anywhere, which means it fits nowhere. A pitch that leads with the business instead of the reader.

These aren't hard problems to fix. But they're almost impossible to see when you're inside your own business. That's what an outside media perspective can show you.

Questions.

Do I need to have tried getting press before?
Not at all. The audit works whether you're starting from scratch or have tried before and gotten nowhere. Either way, it'll show you where you stand and what to focus on first.
My business is still pretty new. Is it too early for this?
Not necessarily — it depends less on how long you've been in business and more on whether you have a clear message and something worth saying. The audit will tell you honestly if there are things to build out first, or if you're closer to ready than you think.
When will I receive my Loom?
Within one week of submitting your intake form.
